Installed at an angle across the discharge pulley, the revolutionary CleanScrape Belt Cleaner requires minimal space for installation. Because the CleanScrape Belt Cleaner is equipped with tungsten carbide tips and applies minimal pressure to the belt, it’s safe for use on mechanical splices, making it the most versatile belt cleaner on the market.
Ez Skirt – Sealing System – Stainless Steel Hangers
EZ-SKIRT SEALING SYSTEM
Developed in the tough hard-rock mining conditions of the Minnesota Iron Range, the EZ-SKIRT® Skirting system is a simple and effective two-part skirting system that prevents dust and spillage and is reducing cleanup and maintenance costs at installations worldwide.
The EZ-SKIRT® sealing system can be set up in a broad variety of configurations. The main variables to consider are height of skirtboard above belt, type of material conveyed and trough angle of idlers.
Our stainless steel hangers features laser cut, serrated channels every four inches to hold the skirting securely and allow for precise skirting adjustments, yet still allow for easy peel-away removal.
Stainless steel hangers are 5 feet in length and are available in 90, 80, 70, 60 and 45 degree angles.
The EZ-SKIRT sealing system can be set up in a broad variety of configurations. It can in 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″ thicknesses and face heights from 6-9″ and the hangers come in 2″ and 4″ face height with board above belt, type of material conveyed, and trough angle of idlers. In general, large lumps sizes requires heavier skirting (3/4″ or 1″) generally in 60 durometer and fine or dusty type materials may need a skirt that will “lay” on or conform to the belt, so 1/2″ or 3/4″ works well. Softer 40 durometer rubber in 3/4″ works well for fine material also. Here are some general recommendations.
Aggregates, Crushed Stone, Lump Material
Severe-Duty Hard Rock, Problem Areas, Heavily Loaded Belts*
Fine Sand, Powdery Materials
4″ hangers are always recommended unless there is not room for installation. 2″ hangers are used for tight areas. These are general guidelines. Contact your sales representative for questions or specific recommendations.
*Properly installed wear liners and belt support are needed for optimum performance with heavily loaded belts and severe-duty load zone applications.
**B designations Beveled Skirting which is used for Heavy Duty applications, problem area, high speed belts etc.
***By using a 5-SS-4-60 hanger for the Fine Materials with a 35 deg. through conveyor instead of a 5-SS-4-70 hanger, the skirt comes in a less of an angle so it can “lay” on the belt and flex a little. By using a 8″ or 9″ skirt, the skirt can also be tucked under the skirtboard if needed.
