Description

Control Chief Communicator Remote Control Transceiver Modules offer a variety of cost effective solutions for your applications. Designed as part of the Rockwell Automation Encompass Program for the Allen-Bradley SLC-500 controller, Communicator installs directly into the SLC500 chassis. Unlike a modem, it communicates across the backplane as opposed to using an external, serial interface. Communicator Remote Control Transceiver Modules let you eliminate hard-wired cables and extra layers of connectivity that can impede communications. They create a “virtual wire” that delivers superior performance and maximum flexibility in all SLC applications. This eliminates high installation and ongoing maintenance costs associated with hard-wired systems.

The Communicator is an integrated wireless communications module that installs directly into the chassis of the Allen-Bradley SLC500 controller. The Communicator module can be used as a licensed 450-470MHz radio receiver device utilizing the existing processor and I/O modules in your SLC500 with a Control Chief wireless transmitter. In addition, you can use a 2.4GHz Communicator module as a point to point or networked RF link between multiple SLC500s.
